A cancer diagnosis is a life changing event. Most patients and their families are forced to adjust their lifestyle to manage treatments and seek appropriate care. As a result, many cancer patients and their families experience temporary or permanent economic hardship during and after cancer treatments. At First Coast Oncology, our mission is to provide the most advanced radiation oncology treatment available in a compassionate and respectful environment. Over the years we have seen first hand the financial strain a cancer diagnosis has on our patients and their families. Often, our patients lack insurance coverage for their treatments or have large co-payments that drain their savings. Too often, cancer patients lose their jobs or are unable to work during their treatments. They are left with the stress of worrying how they will pay for their mounting bills in addition to anxiety over their treatment and prognosis. As part of our dedication to compassionate care, we have established the First Coast Cancer Foundation to help ease the financial burden of cancer patients in Northeast Florida and provide cancer education and support. The mission of First Coast Cancer Foundation is to improve the quality of life for cancer patients and those touched by cancer through Patient Support Services. Your generous gift may provide assistance for food, shelter, utility expenses, insurance expenses, medical supplies related to the cancer diagnosis, and transportation costs. For most patients, this is just what they need to help them through their temporary financial hardship. The Foundation will also provide support and education to cancer patients and their families through educational programs and counseling services. First Coast Oncology realizes that a holistic approach to treating cancer is the best approach to cancer care. There are many ways to help local patients through First Coast Cancer Foundation. We are accepting donations of any size in honor or memory of a loved one. You may also volunteer your time to assist with Foundation activities. In addition, we are looking for your favorite recipe that helped you or your family member through your cancer treatments.
